BCA: BUREAU of CHRONOLOGICAL AFFAIRS
A downloadable Campaign Setting
BUREAU of CHRONOLOGICAL AFFAIRS
A bureaucratic time-travel campaign for Daggerheart
At the heart of TIME/SPACE stands a vast office complex – its stairwells spiraling endlessly through every shadowed corner of the multiverse. This is the BCA, the Bureau of Chronological Affairs, long-time custodians of the universal time flow and guardians of the DOOM’S DAY CLOCK – a device that has ticked since the dawn of creation.
Or at least it did – before the entire staff of the Bureau vanished.
Now it’s up to you and a handful of freshly recruited field agents to navigate the surreal corridors of TIME/SPACE, restore the Bureau’s lost departments, and uncover the truth of what happened to the BCA.
FEATURES
-
An original 64 page campaign setting for Daggerheart, inspired by Severance, Loki, Control, and Doctor Who.
-
New mechanics for Paradoxes, Death Loops, and Time Travel
-
Rebuild your surreal base of operations as you recover lost departments – reduce paradox thresholds in Quantum Refinement, or unwind over deviled eggs at the Automat Cafeteria
-
The DOOM’S DAY CLOCK dictates the difficulty of every roll – if it ever reaches 30, the timeline collapses
-
A kitchen sink campaign: weird, dark, and ready for anything – built for strange characters in stranger stories
-
Experience time travel as a corporate dungeon crawl through fluorescent hallways, temporal anomalies, and existential bureaucracy
New Class: The Agent. A custom class for exploring TIME/SPACE that puts you in the role of the BCA's best employee. (3 additional subclasses are available for an all Agent campaign in the AGENT CLASS PACK expansion.)
Completely remixed Daggerheart rules included. The Heartbreaker Ruleset is a streamlined version of the Daggerheart SRD that has been stripped down to it bare bones and melded to fit the genre of the campaign. All the rules you need to play the game are here!

So, I love this setting and am planning to GM this at my FLGS on Free RPG Day, but I would LOVE to have a physical copy. Any plans to have it availible in print before June through something like DriveThru? if not, any chance you can give explicit permission for people to print this through DriveThru?
Either way, the fact that I want it in print goes to show how awesome the setting is!
Any way this can work with the Liminal Horror system?
Potentially, you could easily take the world building stuff and port it over. If you havent you should check out THE BUREAU which was a major inspiration for this game!
The theme, Dave Thaumavore’s review, your generosity in the comments on here, and your friendliness on Reddit sold me.
My first itch.io purchase - cheers!
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy, here if you have any questions
Forgive me if this is a dumb question; is there a physical release for this game? I grabbed the bundle but I also like to have a physical book when they are available for games
There is no physical game yet, but im exploring some options in the upcoming months. I'll post an update when they become available!
Awesome, thank you!
We all need a physical version of your masterpiece, even those who did not know it yet!
Please go trough this project, Director Panic! <3
Thanks, buddy! more info to come soon!
and there are no dumb questions! thank you for asking!
Hello, I'm looking forward to testing it with my friends, would there be a problem with me translating the character's sheet into Portuguese? I can make it available to you back.
That's awesome, please do!
Would you consider selling this on heartofdaggers.com? I'm using their toolkits for my Daggerheart campaigns and love their planned homebrew integration with their toolkits. Just watched a video on Dave T channel on youtube. This looks amazing.
I do! I've already put the agent class in the homebrew section and will be adding an adventure eventually. Full disclosure both sites only have a PDF, so there is no automatic integration into the HoD tools.
This is AMAZING!
Thank you!
This campaign frame caught my eye a few days ago as a beginning GM of daggerheart! Thank you so much for putting some community copies online! Looking forward to surprising my group of players with this masterpiece.
for sure! I really hope you enjoy it!
Hi there. Since there is no free file left any more: How much is this "just" a campaign frame vs an "adventures". Like are there short descriptions for enemies, scene etc. like the officially Sablewood?
Edit: Sorry, I just saw you added some community copies so I guess I can figure it out myself. Thanks!
Hope you enjoy!
I'm interested in the answer to this question as well. Did you figure it out? :)
I just added a few more community copies, feel free to grab one and see for yourself!
I will, thanks so much!
hey, is there any chance more community copies could be put up? this looks sick as hell
for sure, its the holidays!
thank you!!
This is really cool! Thanks for the free copy! Really appreciate the art and the system of the game!
Thank you! hope you enjoy!
Really cool Daggerheart campaign frame!
Thank you, friend!
Love this!
Thank you I've got a custom class for it on the way.
I have recently finished playing the Control and Alan Wake games and I was ITCHING for a frame involving those themes and i am STOKED.
Wonderful, I hope you enjoy it!
Dear Sir Panic,
Each time I see a new work from you, I am as excited as amazed!
First, you are a master of the retro layout, I love you style!
Second, you are a creativity genius, the mecanics, the processes, the integration with Daggerheart... just WOW!
I already wow-ed you in another comment, but it seems that I would not stop now. :)
Thank you so much for all of your work, I would no doubt follow and support you for a long time, mate.
Thank you so much, Azarian! Very kind words! Your support means the world to me!
Seriously incredible work!
For anyone curious about picking this up, do it! It has such a clear gameplay loop, unique new mechanics, and an amazing end game phase (don’t read it if you’re a player!)! It’s a perfect pick for anyone interested in running Daggerheart!
Thank you! I really appreciate this review!
INCREDIBLE
Oh shit! Thanks, Buddy! Y'all made a hell of a game!
This campaign frame is amazing, so creative and evocative.
Cant wait to play with it!
Thank you! Im updating today to have an expanded end game and a gameplay loop flow chart, so stay tuned!
Great additions! I had questions about what happened after the end but the expanded end game resolved that perfectly
Thank you! I definitely needed a bit more
I've never played Dagger Heart but this is so up my alley it hurts.
Daggerheart is a game that has worked it's way into my skull .
And thank you!
This might be what convinces me to check it out
I notice this doesn’t come up when I search itch for Daggerheart or campaign frame! Looks really cool, thank you!
Weird, I have it tagged as those things! Thanks for the headsup and thank you for the kind words!
who knows, the itch search seems to be really bad. The design on this one is beautiful. Wonderful job.
Thank you, friend!
